The Director's Note
"Dear Participants,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 3rd edition of the African Rietveld School (ARS), an initiative dedicated to strengthening expertise in crystallographic analysis and Rietveld refinement across Africa and beyond.
ARS aims to provide researchers and PhD students with high-level training in the Rietveld method, crystal structure refinement, and advanced diffraction techniques, combining theoretical knowledge with practical hands-on sessions to address real challenges in materials science.
We are honored by the participation of Prof. Juan Rodríguez-Carvajal, creator of the FullProf Suite, and Prof. Irene Urcelay-Olabarria, expert in advanced crystallographic analysis and magnetic structure refinement, alongside renowned international scientists and LIMSET experts, offering participants a unique environment for learning, scientific exchange, and collaboration.
At LIMSET, we are committed to connecting global expertise with the African scientific community, empowering young researchers, and promoting innovation in energy, environment, and advanced materials.
I warmly welcome all participants and wish you an inspiring ARS experience."
